Place : FIFO Village

The country has never overlooked the economic and cultural issues surrounding the audiovisual sector. Simultaneously, as we know, the development of digital opens up new perspectives to audiovisual whilst at the same time restructuring its organisation and consumption patterns.

That is why a new support scheme, SCAN (Support for Audiovisual and Digital Creation) has been implemented by the government and entrusted to the Directorate General of the digital economy to oversee.

What is SCAN ?

SCAN is a perfect illustration of an innovative scheme capable of responding to the demands for better management of public funds and commitment to supporting the digital economy (broadly).

The idea is to support digital innovation and the production of audiovisual works through a reformed scheme. This scheme is designed to respond to the need to professionalise the audiovisual sector within the context of digital development.

The objectives for SCAN are clear, here it consists of offering fairer support, where professionals are considered as such and where debut works stand a chance of coming to fruition.

During FIFO 2015 the DGEN proposes a discovery area devoted to SCAN where project bearers can find out about this new scheme and the preparation of aid dossiers.

Simultaneously, the DGEN will reinstall its filmed radio studioLet’s talk about FIFO ’ at the centre of the FIFO village so that video producers, directors and producers of documentaries can come and talk about films in competition, their projects and FIFO news.
