Kanak objects are exhibited in the Quai Branly today. Along with Wimawi, a mourner’s mask evoking spirits from the land of the dead, they provide a path to culture and to the Kanak soul. The film also questions the place of spiritual objects in museums, a long way from their place of origin and their primary role.
